What are the major strengths and weaknesses of the instructor?

1.   Speaking as an online student, the instructor was very involved in online discussion, responded to questions quickly, and was very helpful.
2.   He's a good speaker and explains things well. I think he should engage the class more rather than just lecturing.
3.   His Enthusiam
4.   He is very available to answer homework questions.
5.   This professor is incredibly knowledgable and a great presenter.

What aspects of this course were most beneficial to you?

1.   The homework assignments.
2.   I like the flexibility of the course because it allows me to study and work full time.
3.   Visual Aids and Presentations
4.
5.

What do you suggest to improve this course?

1.   Increase time for the midterm. Only having an hour and a half to complete questions that required hand-writing computer code was a little short in my opinion.
2.   I think there should be longer term programming projects. Possibly even projects that span multiple courses, like 402 and 403. These would be beneficial when searching for jobs because students can put them on their resumes.
3.   If it is all possible, exams and midterms should be typed and compiled programs NOT handwritten source code.
4.   To have the tests be a much lower % of the final grade. Have an entire lecture on acing data structures on job interviews. Implementing the data structures in class before the homework is due.
5.   Firstly, I would like to say that this is a terrific professor and DePaul should do whatever it can to keep him around. I found that the class began very well organized, but that the first half of the class was at too slow a pace whereas the second half of the class was at too quick a pace. It seemed like the professor rushed through the end of the material to try to get things in. This was also similar in the homeworks. While the first few homeworks were very well defined, the last two homeworks were unclear about what behavior was expected in our code and it affected grading.
